Necro?...Or...Ranger?
I can't decide so heres to the point;
I always use bow, I am used to kiting in all games. Necro is more my style though in real life lol. (Yes I am Picky like this I hate it). I like to bring the party something, I won't say solo because all classes can do that. I don't know, basically I always been an Archer, but Necromancer is more my style...lol what should I do? |

when you say necro is more your style...u mean physical appearance?
i'll admit that necros do look pretty seksy, but if you like to use bows, rangers really are your only option. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Ranger_armor look through this gallery...i'm sure you'll find at least one armour there that you like. |

Necromancer, you like to bring something to the party. Bring curses and minions. You can't really kite as a necro afaik. And necro is more your style. Play one. Their elite armor is pretty cool too.

Your guru name already sounds more necro than ranger. PvE wise I'd say necro is infinitely better and will have more to contribute than a ranger. Plus they have awesome dance, both M and F.

I would have to recommend Necro, I personally use a bow on my Necro to do a variety of tasks, especially when using heroes/henchmen. As far as kiting goes, any class can do it to some degree. A Necro is useful in absolutely every area in the game as far as parties are concerned. But in this respect there are several builds that you should familiarize yourself with, namely Spiteful Spirit, Blood Battery, Minion Master, and Blood Spike builds.
As Far as the Ranger is concerned you can usually get in a group but at times it will be difficult. Builds to familiarize yourself with would be Barrage/Interrupt/Pet, Edge of Extinction Spirit Spam, and Broad Head Arrow Interrupter builds. If you would like help with any or all of these or further advice you can contact me in game my IGN is "The Neoezekiel" Good Luck and Have Fun |

try them both,draw conclusions after playing them both,people can not tell u whether u will like 1 or the other more,it all depends on what your playstyle is.So if u like bows,doing damage from a ranged distance,apply conditions to mobs,interupting and some nice dps than ranger is for u,on the other hand if u like being a spellcaster,raise minions, debuff and damage mobs with curses,or support your team either trough orders,wells, or by going as a secondary /mo,/rit and benefit from awesome energy management from soul reaping while pumping out heals,prots,weapon spells,than necro is for u.

Rangers are more "clean" in the way of dealing raw damage, necromancers deal with blood and stuff like that ... I'd be a ranger over a necro any day.
And then you have to understand every hex... too much for me. |

N/R baby! Really though, they're both core, and the minimum number of slots you have is 4. Try both! EDIT: P.S. [Drunken Master] is a good non-profession IAS |

Don't know if your still seeking opinions, but here is mine. I have a necro and a ranger as well...i think most players play more than one class-anyways necros are great for support and super fun in pvp.But rangers are about the same.I don't think this is going anywhere lol so i'll discuss the classes individually.
Necros are used in a most curious way in pvp, supporting the team sometimes and causing health degeneration in AoE form. as for pve, i like to run blood support/wells...good damage spikes, degen, party regen-good stuff not to mention the necro class syncs well with a mesmer secondary...for interrupts and whatnot.basically a very versatile and interesting class~i'd say more but i'd be here all day^^ Rangers are great DPS, favoring a barrage type build in pve myself..but they can be adjusted to playstyle.Both rangers and necros can get groups easily depending on how well you run builds...My favorite aspect of rangers are their high-speed attacks, being able to chain attacks with a ias is nice especially with interrupts. great for snaring...good all around class. I think you'll have fun on either of these classes...i feel the same way when i make characters and i see myself somewhat juxtaposed to my characters "supposed" personalities.if you like looking scary, necros are awesome...various armors can make you look wicked, as for rangers a similar persona can be acheived by and this is a personal opinion..a mo zing mask and dark colored armor. hope this helps...pm me in game i'd be happy to talk more=D |
